St Albans RFC offers Mini and youth rugby for children aged 5 to 12 years of age on Sunday mornings 9:45 to 11:30am.
Supervised by RFU accredited coaches, Rugby is a wonderful opportunity for children to become involved in a sport based on teamwork and individual skill, yet with a strong focus on friendship and participation.
At St Albans RFC mini’s & Youth, our approach to rugby is simple: whether training or playing a match, each player should try their best, respect the Core Values of Rugby and have as much fun as possible.
Our inclusive approach to the game and friendly atmosphere around the club make it simply a ‘nice place to be’ on a Sunday morning. Our club house is directly next to our pitches so our parents can enjoy hot, tasty refreshments and convivial conversation under inside or under cover, while watching their children have lots of fun, just a few meters away.
Our players enjoy:
Dedicated coaches in every age-group
Small group sizes
No waiting lists!
Friendly team spirit
Full inclusion / no ‘tiering’ or picking only the best squad.
Put simply, if you are a member of the club, you play in the team.
Our parents enjoy:
Plenty of parking
Top quality cafe
A friendly and welcoming atmosphere
Inclusion: St Albans RFC is a volunteer-run club, not a business.
If you’d like to be actively involved with your child’s rugby, you can. But if
not just sit back and watch the kids enjoy themselves.
We play against local Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire teams; at Herts RFU Minis festivals and in the prestigious ‘Oakman Cup’ – a unique festival organised by our sponsors (Oakman Inns) and played at Allianz Park, home of the Saracens.
The Core Values of Rugby: Teamwork; Respect; Enjoyment; Discipline; Sportsmanship… Each is part of what makes rugby a special game. At St Albans RFC Minis all players, parents and coaches adhere to these values, enjoying the environment and culture they create.(Visit the official RFU version at Core Values of Rugby) to find out more about Rugbys Core Values.
